Topic: Add Tile Mosaic On Formica?
Author: Leslie
Date Posted: 2/19/2001
I have an old formica countertop in my bathroom that to remove would be costly and burdensome (since I'm doing it all myself). I want to do a mosaic design with broken tiles & glass and want to know if I need to float wonderboard on top of the existing formica or can I "epoxy" glue the pieces directly to the formica and then fill in with grout? That would be my method of choice but I want to be sure the tiles will adhere with the glue & grout alone. Advice?
