Topic: Who's Responsible?

Last summer we installed an inground pool, used a reputable company that's been around for years. They obtained all the permits and the construction passed all inspections. Here's the problem...a few weeks ago the power company said we were inside their easement/right of way and must move the pool (safety hazard). Why would the building permit be issued and all the inspections pass if we were inside a high tension wire easement. I am not a surveyer nor do I have any education in that area. We were only told about a 15' easement where we couldn't plant certain types of trees, etc., or contruct any permanent buildings which would hinder their ability to get to the lines. The position of the pool does not interfere with that issue. I could really use some expert advise on this topic...HELP!
