Topic: Repointing stone foundation -- lime mortar?

I'm going to repoint an area of my stone foundation that needs attention. I've read that it's a good idea to mix a portion of lime in with the sand and cement. Does anyone know the proper ratio for this? Is it necessary inside and out, or can I use a standard cement/sand mixture inside?
