Topic: smoky chimney/stove
Author: Lisa Scholberg

I've had a wood burning stove a few years. It started smoking at the beginning of winter so we had our 45 ft all brick and mortar chimney cleaned. Now we cannot use the stove at all because it smokes a lot! The chimney sweep told us it was due to downdraft or something else, but we've tried all the hints for downdraft and negative air pressure to no avail. The chimney sweep suggested a vacu-stack, but we understand that just works for wind. The chimney sweep said the chimney had big chunks of mortar befor cleaning that broke up the downdraft and now it is so clean that it flows right down into the house. Help!
