I just had my old steel frame, single pane windows replaced with new vinyl replacements (Anlin) in November 2002. When the install crew installed the windows, they smeared silicone caulking all over my exterior stucco about 1/2" to 1" around the outside frame. The dirt has now adhered to the silicone and it looks awful...I am actually going to be forced to now paint my house to cover the silicone. I still have a balance due of $2,000, which the firm is now suing me over. They claim that they can do no more for me and refuse to remove the caulk from my stucco. Is this normal for quality window installations...should I have to paint after windows were installed? Please help!!
