Topic: Crumbling mortar in stone wall
Author: Dianne Dichter
Date Posted: 3/31/2005
My house was built in 1907. The foundation and the front porch are built from Wissahickon schist. In places, the mortar is disolving into sand. What type of mortar should I use to repoint these areas?
