Subject: Pella - ThermaStar

Has anyone tried/heard anything about these? I am considering these for 5 upstairs windows that I would like like to replace on a budget. They seem like decent windows at a good price from a reputable company. I am planning on installing myself, with help from friends who are very handy or contactors themselves.

I've already heard the standard responses from Lowe's:

Pella has only made vinyl replacements for one year; Lowe's is only carrying them b/c Pella paid them; warranty isn't as good; etc, etc. All this seems like a push toward the Loewe's "Reliabilt" Brand to earn them a better margin. My question is aimed at anyone who has DIRECT experience with these windows. Thanks in advance for any replies.
