Weber Grill Line Open for Business

By Roy Berendsohn

Grill tips and pizza book are offered

Barbecue manufacturer Weber-Stephen Products Co. opened its Grill Line (800-GRILL-OUT; 800-474-5568) on April 2, putting its staff of in-house "certified barbecue experts" at your disposal. The experts are home economists trained by Weber-Stephen to answer your questions on how to grill, product safety and nearly anything else related to using a barbecue grill. You can reach them seven days a week, from 6 am until 10 pm, Central Time.

Also, callers receive a free copy of Weber’s Book Of Grilled Pizza, a 40-page guide to cooking pizza on a grill, both from scratch and using premade ingredients. The book’s author is Bob Blumer, a man who calls himself "The Surreal Gourmet." However, there’s nothing surreal about the recipes. Most of them seem straightforward enough that even a home improvement editor can tackle them. Classics such as pepperoni and mozzarella are described as are more contemporary versions, such as a breakfast pizza and a California Grilled Veggie pie. Accompaniments are also described, such as garlic and peppers and a tasty vinaigrette.

You can also tap into Weber-Stephen's barbecue expertise by sending e-mail to grillout@weber.com.
