I recently had the brick walls in the interior of a small apartment sandblasted. (I hadn't read your advice about not doing this at the time) Now all of the paint and has been removed off of the brick, but the bricks are filled with little holes and pock marks. Is there a way to reface the brick without replacing it? And what should that cost if its possible? And does "pointing the brick" mean just filling in the space between the bricks with mortar or does it also mean removing existing mortar. I spoke with one contractor who said he was going to point the bricks by just spreading mortar over them.
