Dear Molly,
Whatever you do, bring samples of the floor colors you are interested in home, and live with them at least a week. Look at them in sunlight and at night so you can see the effect of the colors on the room. It's hard to say how the colors would look together, not seeing the room.
I always try to find pictures of rooms with the colors I am thinking of using in them. There are alot of shades of blue, and the black and white sound fine, it's just fine tuning the combination of colors so they work together to achieve the effect you desire.
