Dear Julie Kert,

Unless you love dark rooms. I would recommend that you go with a ligther wood tone. You may go as light as you wish or match your wood furnishings.

I would recommend going with a tri-tone wood color. The walls being the darkest tone, the floor the mid-tone, and the furnishings the lightest tone. For the ideal.

You can if you prefer have the floor as the lightest tone, and the furnishings the mid tone.

It is important that you maintain unity in design. Please see my reply to the photographer requesting help with their home office in this forum. For an example on creating unity.
