Before founding Builders Booksource, George and Sally Kiskaddon found it nearly impossible to locate books and resources regarding the construction and design trades, whether for themselves at home or for George's professional work in construction management and real estate rehabs. So they opened their Berkeley, California, Builders Booksource store in 1982, followed by a second location in San Francisco's Ghirardelli Square in 1996. Their idea was to create a central location in which to find books, reference materials, and software for home builders, architects, contractors, do-it-yourselfers, and consumers. They have succeeded admirably, and their stores are well worth a trip for anyone near the Bay Area.
