A guide to southern pine flooring is, obviously, a 17-page instructional booklet on how to install this type of flooring. But along the way, it delivers an education on lumber and the variety of things that you need to be aware of when pine is installed as flooring. In that respect, the guide is a double-header. In this day of synthetic products, people often forget that lumber has a different set of characteristics than man-made materials.
