Excited to share my love of home design and décor with readers, I started with ImproveNet in 2016. As a staff writer at ImproveNet, I enjoy writing about the latest trends and ways you can make your home the loveliest it can be. You may also find me in the ImproveNet videos, sharing tips you may not know about local contractors. As a new homeowner, I am always interested in learning more. I’ve been lucky enough to interview experts like Megan Wild, editor of Your Wild Home, and Emily Hoefler, kitchen and bath specialist at Renovations Group Inc. These interviews and more don’t only provide inspiration for my stories, but also tips on how I can improve my 1920s bungalow. Living in an older Chicago home, it seems like there’s always something new to work on. In the last year, my husband and I have updated our staircase, redecorated and fixed the flooring on our enclosed porch, and called in a pro to help with a chimney repair. Needless to say, my house keeps me busy! My favorite topics to write about include kitchen and bathroom remodeling. I’m always looking for new ways to save homeowners money and space to make their rooms the best they can be. As someone who enjoys planning and understands how important that is to homeowners, I always want to know the costs of any major project upfront. I try to include the most accurate cost information with whatever I write, so you can budget best for your next home improvement project. I also enjoy talking about landscaping and gardening topics, as I love to grow flowers and herbs at home. Prior to ImproveNet, I was the Managing Editor at Forefront Magazine. I’ve also written for companies such as Enjoy Illinois, Like A Local and Krrb (Now Apartment Therapy). I graduated with a degree in Marketing and a minor in Journalism from Columbia College Chicago. When I’m not writing, I love crocheting, playing badminton and exploring Chicago with my dog Sundae.
