Bad things happen to good peoples' property. Wind storms tear up your roof and exterior. Ice dams cause water to back up into wall cavities and attics. Pipes freeze. Hailstones ravage roofs, siding, gutters, window wraps, screens and mailboxes. Lightning strikes ruin electrical panels and cause wiring to short out. Basements flood, automobiles strike houses, and neighbors' trees fall on our garages. If you are on the receiving end of a weather event, an Act of God or somebody else's bad judgement, your first call is to your insurance agent. Your agent is the best place to get the claim process rolling. After you've filed the claim you will need to choose a qualified contractor to repair your damaged property to pre-loss condition. Allen Restoration Group works with insurance agents all across Chicagoland to investigate their insureds' claims, develop an estimate, meet and settle with the adjuster, and effect the repairs. Along the way we deal with permits, the county zoning departments, all of the insurers that are involved in the loss, and the financial stakeholders in the loss (mortgage companies, second mortgage companies, etc). Our goal is to ease the process of insurance restoration so you have the easy job: picking colors of new shingles or siding, choosing the new paint job for the damaged rooms, selecting the carpet you always wanted for the basement. We will assess your damage and help you decide whether or not you need to file a claim. If the damage to your property is small, it may not be in your best interest to file a claim with your insurer. If your deductible is $1000 and your damage is less than your deductible, you will have wasted your time and resources by filing a claim. If you are unsure of the scope of the damages, call us. We'll send an estimator out and he will assess the damage and give you a path forward.
