Costs of Casement Windows
Unlike the common single and double hung window, casement windows allow for an unobstructed view. These classic style windows are great for those who live in scenic geographies and who enjoy letting the fresh breezes in as they allow for plenty of ventilation with just a few cranks of a handle. For older homes as well as contemporary homes, casement windows offer a fresh, updated look and design. Their distinctive vertical look in a wide variety of colors makes these windows an excellent choice for stone, stucco and brick homes and buildings.

Installation costs should be added into the initial cost of the window and can range from $200 to $400 per window, but it may cost less if a large amount of windows are installed at once.
Types of Casement Window Material
Casement windows are available in several materials. One of the most high-quality materials that casement windows are available in is called the aluminum clad, which is basically aluminum covered wood. The exterior of the window is aluminum, and the interior is wood that can be ordered finished or unfinished. Casement windows are also available in wood in natural pine, oak or maple and come as finished or unfinished. The next best material is vinyl, which is a very durable material. It is made not to flake, blister, fade, peel or chalk. One of the least expensive casement window material is what Pella calls Impervia or Duracast, which is fiberglass and is made to resemble wood.
Another item to consider is the value of the window’s insulation. The window will have a U-factor that is used to measure its thermal conductivity. The lower the U-factor is, the better the window is insulated. Then there is the R-value, which refers to the window’s resistance to heat conduction. However, the higher the R-value, the better the window is.
Various Styles of Casement Windows
Casement windows are used as stained glass windows in churches, as skylights and as windows above doors, known as transom windows. The awning, hopper and tilt and turn or tilt and slide windows are all types of casement windows with slight variations.

Advantages of Casement Windows
One of the greatest aspects next to the aesthetic look of the casement window is the wonderful ability it has to bring in the outside air. Casement windows, unlike other windows, have the ability to catch breezes that may be blowing by in various directions.
Casement windows provide a pleasing, unobstructed view. With no sashes, the view is more wide and clear. Often, people choose to install several casement windows together where picture windows or bay windows aren’t able to be installed.
